Position Overview

We are seeking a creative Design Assistant to support the end-to-end product development process across multiple categories. Working closely with the Melbourne team and overseas head office teams, this collaborative role supports the creation of globally relevant, trend-led product aligned with the brand direction and customer.

The ideal candidate is highly organised, agile, and solutions-focused, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects within a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality, fit, and design integrity.

Key Responsibilities

- Support seasonal trend research across colour, fabric, silhouette, and key fashion directions relevant to the global market
- Create CADs, technical sketches, flat drawings, and design specifications using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Assist in developing commercially relevant product ranges while preparing and maintaining accurate tech packs, specification sheets, and product documentation within the PLM system
- Collaborate with overseas head office teams to develop new styles, source fabrics and trims, and finalise specifications and costings
- Manage sampling timelines, track the critical path, and support product development to meet key launch and photoshoot deadlines
- Review samples and fittings, updating comments and specifications to ensure fit, quality, workmanship, and design intent are maintained
- Liaise with Buying,



Production, Supply Chain, and Marketing teams to support product launches, quality standards, margin requirements, and delivery timelines
- Assist in resolving development and production issues proactively to minimise delays and maintain product integrity
- Conduct market and competitor research to identify emerging trends, fabric innovations, and current product opportunities globally
- Maintain strong organisation across multiple categories and fast-moving development timelines

Requirements

- 2+ years’ experience in Fashion Design and/or Product Development, preferably within fast fashion, online retail, or contemporary fashion brands
- Open to fresh graduates with a degree in Fashion design or any relevant internship experience.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, fabrics, and manufacturing processes
- Experience working with overseas head office teams and factories, particularly within Asia
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator and Photoshop
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and agile environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, Product Development, or related field preferred
