We are seeking highly experienced Digital Forensics Technical Specialists to join our Digital Forensics team within the Cyber Operations, Programs and Strategy branch.

Through this process, we are recruiting for a range of digital forensic roles, including Digital Forensics Technical Specialist and eDiscovery Technical Specialist.

As a (EL 2) Digital Forensics Technical Specialist, you will provide strategic leadership for the ATO’s digital forensics capability. You will shape the direction of specialist services, lead complex and sensitive activities and provide authoritative advice on digital forensic, investigative and evidentiary matters.

You will provide senior technical leadership for advanced digital forensic services. You will oversee complex forensic activities, set technical direction and manage significant technical, operational and evidentiary risks.

As an (EL 2) eDiscovery Technical Specialist, you will provide strategic leadership for eDiscovery, reporting and information management services. You will lead the development of contemporary practices that support investigative and legal requirements and meet legislative and evidentiary obligations.

Across these roles, you will strengthen governance, drive capability uplift and influence strategic outcomes across the ATO and broader government setting. You will build productive relationships with senior stakeholders, law enforcement agencies, government partners,



legal representatives and technology providers and foster technical excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.

These roles have exposure to highly sensitive, confidential and, at times, explicit material. The Digital Forensics Technical Specialist will be required to attend field work at different locations across the country to assist in ATO investigations. This will require you to travel interstate and can include overnight stay when travelling. In addition, you will be required to work outside of the ordinary hours of duty on an ad hoc basis and attend an annual mandatory counselling session.

Candidates may be placed in a Digital Forensics Technical Specialist or eDiscovery Technical Specialist role.

These roles may be offered on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis in Brisbane CBD, Melbourne CBD or Sydney CBD.
