Gowrie Street Preschool and Out of School Hours Care is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Diploma Qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team for the 2027 school year. This is a fixed-term position working 18.75 hours per week from 27 January 2027 to 17 December 2027. Working alongside our dedicated team, you will help provide a safe, inclusive and engaging environment where every child is supported to learn, grow and feel a strong sense of belonging.
Key responsibilities
- Support the delivery of high-quality early childhood education and care
- Create warm, welcoming and engaging environments for children
- Develop positive relationships with children and families
- Support children's individual learning, development and wellbeing
- Assist with observations, documentation and program planning
- Work collaboratively with educators, teachers and other staff
- Maintain a secure, inclusive and child-focused environment
- Contribute positively to the day-to-day operation of Gowrie Street Preschool and Out of School Hours Care
Requirements:
- Hold a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, or an approved equivalent qualification
- Have a genuine passion for working with children
- Be able to build positive and respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Be able to contribute to the planning and delivery of engaging, play-based learning experiences
- Be able to understand the importance of inclusion, child safety and wellbeing
- Be reliable, organised, flexible and able to use initiative
- Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team
- Must hold a current Working with Children Check
- Meet all relevant requirements for working in an early childhood education and care setting
