The Service KU Corrimal East Preschool, located in just north of Wollongong is our 20-place Exceeding rated preschool operating Monday to Friday from 8am - 3:30pm.

We specialise in

- Circle of Security, Attachment Theory, and Play Spaces approaches to support children's wellbeing, learning, and development.
- Pedagogical inquiry, research, and reflective practice, including participation in partnerships with universities and academic researchers.
- A strong focus on relationships over resources, recognising that meaningful and responsive interactions between educators and children are at the heart of learning, development, and wellbeing. We value connection, conversation, play, and shared experiences, supporting educators to be fully present with children and build secure, trusting relationships.
- A passionate, hands-on approach to teaching and learning, with a commitment to actively engaging with children, modelling high-quality practice, and working alongside educators to support children's learning, development, and wellbeing.

The Role We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher qualified Director to lead our team in a permanent full-time capacity, working 7.6 hours per day, Monday to Friday during NSW school term times.

The role provides a balance of direct engagement with children and dedicated non-contact time to undertake Educational Leadership and Director responsibilities. We are looking for a leader who values remaining connected to children's everyday learning experiences and who sees the classroom as the heart of their leadership practice.

The Successful Candidate

Will be

- A visible, hands-on educational leader who is passionate about working alongside children and educators, role-modelling high-quality teaching practice, mentoring and supporting educators, and fostering a culture of reflection, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- A leader at KU Corrimal East Preschool who will champion our commitment to Circle of Security, Attachment Theory, Play Spaces, and relationship-based practice. You will recognise that meaningful, responsive relationships are the foundation of children's learning, wellbeing, and development, and will actively support educators to build secure and trusting connections with children and families.

Will have

- Demonstrated experience in a director role within an early childhood education setting.
- A strong understanding of contemporary early childhood pedagogy and educational leadership.




- Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, educators, and the broader community.
- Experience in team leadership, mentoring and coaching educators to achieve high-quality outcomes.
- Sound knowledge of rostering, daily operations, policy implementation, compliance requirements, and service management.
- A commitment to inclusive practices and creating environments where every child, family, and educator feels a sense of belonging, respect, and value.
- A passion for pedagogical inquiry, reflective practice, and evidence-informed approaches to teaching and learning.

Ideally hold or be willing to obtain

- Circle of Security Facilitator Training and/or Circle of Security in the Classroom Training.
- Marte Meo training.
- Experience participating in pedagogical research projects, action research, or partnerships with universities and academic researchers.

To support a smooth transition, we ideally like the successful candidate to commence in the last week of Term 4 (14 December 2026), to participate in a one-week induction and handover with our current Director however, alternative arrangements may be negotiated.
