We are seeking an experienced Director Operational Capability to provide strategic leadership of clinical education, operational training, workforce learning, organisational capability and leadership development across Ambulance Victoria.

This is a significant leadership opportunity to shape how capability is developed across our workforce, ensuring our people are equipped with the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to deliver exceptional patient care and achieve organisational objectives.

This is a full-time, ongoing position within our Quality &

- Clinical Innovation Division. While hybrid arrangements are available, the successful applicant will be expected to maintain a presence at the Sunshine Capability Hub and other locations as required.

About The Role

Reporting to the Executive Director Quality &

- Clinical Innovation, this role will lead the development and delivery of contemporary, sustainable and innovative capability solutions that support Ambulance Victoria's strategic priorities and workforce needs.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

- Provide strategic leadership of clinical education, operational training, workforce learning and organisational capability functions across Ambulance Victoria

- Establish and lead the strategic development and delivery of high-quality, sustainable and contemporary educational standards within AV to ensure a high level of ambulance practice

- Build strong engagement and relationships with universities, education providers, health services and other external stakeholders to ensure AV is represented and in a position to effectively deliver legislative and community obligations

- Champion a culture of continuous learning, leadership excellence and professional development across AV, ensuring employees have access to contemporary learning opportunities and capability pathways that support individual, team and organisational success





- Provide strong and effective leadership by fostering a performance based, collaborative culture focused on continuous improvement and commitment to best practice

About You To be successful in this role, you will be a strategic and influential leader with demonstrated experience leading large-scale capability, education or workforce development functions within a complex organisation.

You will possess but not limited to:

- A postgraduate qualification or industry specialised certification, supplemented by relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and extensive experience

- Demonstrated success in senior roles within large, complex organisations

- Proven experience leading organisational capability, workforce development, leadership development or enterprise learning functions

- Strong knowledge of education systems, workforce learning frameworks and contemporary approaches to learning portfolios

- Exceptional strategic thinking, planning and problem-solving skills across complex educational, business and risk management

- Outstanding communication, engagement and stakeholder management capabilities

- Experience building, leading and developing high-performing teams
- The ability to influence outcomes and drive sustainable organisational change in complex environments
