BALCOR is seeking a compassionate, reliable and experienced Female Disability Support Worker to join our Supported Independent Living team.

You will provide individualised support to a female participant with autism and complex support needs, helping her with daily living, personal care, community participation and maintaining established routines.

Due to the participant’s personal care needs, privacy and expressed preference, we are seeking female support workers for this role.

Key responsibilities include

- Providing person-centred support in line with the participant’s individual support plans

- Assisting with personal care, including showering, dressing, toileting and meal support

- Supporting daily routines, household activities and community access

- Implementing positive behaviour support strategies

- Responding appropriately to behaviours of concern

- Supporting the participant to communicate choices and preferences

- Maintaining accurate progress notes, incident records and other required documentation





- Communicating effectively with other support workers and management

- Maintaining the participant’s dignity, privacy, safety and independence

We are looking for someone with:
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability or similar, or willingness to obtain

- Previous experience working with people with autism, disability and complex support needs

- Experience with behaviours of concern and positive behaviour support

- Confidence providing personal care

- Solid communication skills

- Ability to follow individualised support plans and established routines
- A calm, patient and compassionate approach

- Reliability and punctuality

- Ability to work well as part of a team

- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends, public holidays and sleepover shifts
