MY CHOICE DISABILITY SUPPORT

SUPPORT WORKERS WANTED – BRISBANEWe hire people, not just résumés.
At My Choice Disability Support, we believe that great support can change lives.
We're not just looking for Support Workers.
We're looking for people who genuinely care.
People who celebrate the small wins. People who build meaningful connections. People who can have a laugh, adapt when plans change, encourage someone when they need it and support people to live life on their terms.
Whether you're an experienced Support Worker, studying in the community services sector, returning to the workforce, changing careers, or have lived experience that gives you a unique understanding of disability — we'd love to hear from you.
WHY JOIN MY CHOICE DISABILITY SUPPORT?
We're a growing, inclusive and values-driven organisation that puts people first.
Our team is passionate about creating opportunities, building confidence, supporting independence and helping participants achieve goals that are genuinely important to them.
We want our staff to feel valued, supported and respected, while also being empowered to bring their own personality, ideas and strengths to their role.
When you join My Choice Disability Support, you become part of a team that believes in:
- Choice and control
- Respect and dignity
- Inclusion and belonging
- Neuroaffirming and person-centred support
- Building meaningful relationships
- Encouraging independence
- Supporting individual goals
- Helping people live meaningful lives
THE PEOPLE YOU'LL SUPPORT One of the things that makes working with My Choice Disability Support special is that no two participants are the same — and we wouldn't want them to be.
We support a wonderfully diverse group of people across our community, including people with:
- Autism, ADHD and other forms of neurodivergence
- Mental health and psychosocial disability
- Physical disability and mobility support needs
- Intellectual disability
- Communication differences
- Social isolation and challenges building community connections
- A wide range of individual support needs, personalities, interests and goals
And because our participants are diverse, we want our team to be diverse too. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room.
You might be the calm, grounding person who makes someone feel safe.
You might be energetic and love getting out and exploring the community.
Maybe you're into gaming, fitness, cooking, animals, music, craft, cars, gardening, swimming, sport, movies or simply having a great conversation over a coffee.
Your personality, interests and life experience can be some of your greatest strengths as a Support Worker.
We believe great participant-worker matches aren't just about filling a shift.
They're about connection, shared interests, communication styles, personality, trust and genuinely getting to know the person you're supporting.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
No two days are the same.
Depending on the participant you're matched with, you might be:
- Supporting someone to build confidence ordering their own coffee
- Shopping and developing everyday living skills
- Cooking and preparing meals together
- Assisting with household tasks and cleaning
- Providing personal care
- Providing mobility or hoist assistance where required
- Encouraging fitness, wellbeing and healthy routines
- Supporting someone to attend appointments
- Exploring hobbies, interests and new experiences
- Getting out and about in the community
- Attending our Sociable Society Community Groups
- Helping build friendships and community connections
- Supporting someone to develop their independence
- Working alongside participants towards their individual goals
Sometimes you'll be part of a big milestone. Other times, the win might be getting out of the house, trying something new, cooking a meal, attending a social activity, having a laugh or simply having someone there who genuinely listens.
Those moments matter too.
At My Choice Disability Support, you're not there to take over someone's life.
You're there to walk alongside them while they build the life they choose.
WHAT WE WANT OUR TEAM TO FEEL
We want people to want to come to work.
We want you to feel comfortable bringing ideas to the table, celebrating participant wins, asking questions, learning new things and being part of a team that genuinely cares about what we do.
We're growing — and we're looking for people who want to grow with us.
We don't expect every Support Worker to be perfect for every participant.
That's why matching matters.
Different personalities, experiences, interests and strengths can make an incredible difference when they're matched with the right person.

WAIT! DID YOU ACTUALLY READ THE WHOLE AD?
Qualifications and experience are important — but we also want to know about YOU, the person behind the application.
So, somewhere in your cover letter, you MUST answer this very key question:
You've just been given an unexpected day off tomorrow. No work. No appointments. No responsibilities. What are you doing with it?
Are you heading to the beach?
Gaming for the entire day?
Going on an adventure?
Sleeping until midday?
Getting stuck into a hobby?
Having a Netflix marathon?
Finding somewhere amazing to eat?
Or sitting in complete silence with snacks where absolutely nobody can find you?
There is no right or wrong answer.
Tell us what you'd choose and why.
Make us laugh, tell us a little story or just be yourself.
It's our way of getting to know the person behind the résumé — and it also lets us know you actually made it all the way to the bottom of our job ad.
READY TO JOIN US?
If you're looking for a role where you can build genuine connections, bring your personality to work and make a meaningful difference in someone's life, we'd love to hear from you.

Bring your personality.
Most importantly — bring YOU.
