Disability Support Workers – Remote NT Communities

Tunza Care Services is seeking compassionate, reliable and culturally responsive Disability Support Workers to support NDIS participants in Alice Springs and remote Northern Territory communities, including Yuendumu, Papunya, Mutitjulu, Yulara, Ti Tree and Tennant Creek.

The successful candidates must be comfortable travelling to remote communities and driving long distances. This role may involve overnight stays and working flexible shifts, including weekends, public holidays, active nights and sleepover shifts.

Key responsibilities

- Provide person-centred support to NDIS participants.
- Assist with personal care, daily living activities and household tasks.
- Support community access, appointments, shopping and social participation.
- Follow participants’ care plans, service agreements and risk-management strategies.
- Complete progress notes, incident reports and other required documentation.
- Administer medication where trained and authorised.
- Maintain professional boundaries and protect participants’ privacy and dignity.




- Work respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants, families and communities.

Essential requirements
- Current Australian driver’s licence.
- Confidence and experience driving long distances.
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
- Current Ochre Card or willingness to obtain one.
- National Police Clearance.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate.
- Reliable, flexible and able to work independently in remote locations.
- Robust communication and documentation skills.

Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or a related qualification is highly desirable. Previous experience supporting participants with complex needs, psychosocial disability or challenging behaviours will be highly regarded.

Pay: Up to $76,515.00 per year
