About the role The Montessori Farm is a family-owned early learning centre in Willow Vale on the northern Gold Coast, near Upper Coomera. Janet and Tristan founded it in 2019. The centre sits on 6 acres of farmland and is licensed for 142 places, caring for children from birth to school age across four programs: Nido, Toddler, Junior Kindy and Senior Kindy.

Our curriculum is inspired by Montessori. It is child-led and hands-on, and it focuses on building each child's independence. Our Senior Kindy delivers the Queensland Government approved and funded kindergarten program, led by a qualified Early Childhood Teacher.

The Farm offers learning you won't find at most centres. Children help raise our cows, sheep, miniature goats and chickens, and they work alongside our dedicated Farmer in the veggie garden. They also have large natural playgrounds with a flying fox, and our on-site chef cooks meals for them every day. Our daily practice rests on three values: safety, nurture and academics.

We are open Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 6:00pm, at 31 Peanba Park Road, Willow Vale QLD 4209.

We are looking for an Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) to join us on full-time basis.

Key responsibilities:

1. Develop, implement and evaluate individual and group teaching plans, based on the Montessori approach, the Early Years Learning Framework and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guide, to support each child's physical, emotional, intellectual and social development and school readiness.

2. Encourage children's interpersonal skills, self-esteem, independence and self-discipline, and develop their language, literacy and numeracy through play-based learning, storytelling, role play, songs, rhymes, games and everyday conversation.

3. Help children develop physical coordination and fine and gross motor skills,



and give them opportunities to explore the natural environment through outdoor play, construction, art, caring for the centre's farm animals and working in the veggie garden.

4. Observe, assess and document each child's learning and development, identifying developmental, emotional or health concerns and planning targeted support or extension.

5. Prepare progress reports and discuss each child's development with families and colleagues, recommending strategies or referrals where needed.

6. Set up and maintain a safe, inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment, and model positive, consistent behaviour guidance.

7. Mentor educators, contribute to the Quality Improvement Plan and compliance with the National Quality Standard, and keep up to date with early childhood pedagogy and regulatory requirements through ongoing professional development.

What we're looking for:

1. Current recognised early childhood teaching qualification

2. Valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card) for Queensland

3. Current First Aid and CPR certification appropriate for early childhood settings

4. Demonstrated experience (At least 1 year full time) working with children in early childhood education and care settings

5. Strong knowledge of child development, play-based learning and contemporary early childhood education philosophies. Ability and interest in learning Montessori teaching

6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues

7. Commitment to creating inclusive, culturally responsive learning environments

8. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team whilst demonstrating skilled responsibility and initiative

9. Understanding of and commitment to meeting the National Quality Standard and Early Years Learning Framework requirements

10. Physical capability to support the practical demands of working with young children
