About the role

Lockin Pty Ltd trading as HALTECH ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, develop, test and support electrical power, distribution, protection and control systems for our products and related automotive equipment. The successful candidate will apply skilled electrical engineering principles to develop safe, reliable and production-ready solutions. The role involves electrical system design, engineering calculations, prototype testing, standards compliance, fault investigation and technical support for manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

- Design electrical power, distribution, protection and control systems.

- Prepare electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications and engineering drawings.

- Perform electrical load, current, voltage-drop, power-consumption and thermal calculations.

- Select wiring, connectors, relays, switches, fuses, circuit breakers and power-control equipment.

- Design power supplies, power-conversion systems and electrical interfaces for batteries, motors and actuators.

- Develop and test prototypes under normal, maximum-load and fault conditions.

- Investigate electrical faults, overheating,



power loss and product failures.

- Identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.

- Verify designs against applicable AS/NZS, IEC, ISO and automotive standards.

- Support the manufacture, assembly, installation and testing of electrical products and systems.

About you

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.

- At least 12 months' relevant experience with automotive electrical systems, batteries, motors or actuators.

- Ability to perform electrical load, current, voltage-drop, power-consumption and thermal calculations.

- Experience preparing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and engineering specifications.

- Knowledge of wiring, connectors, switching devices, circuit protection and power-control equipment.

- Experience testing electrical systems and investigating electrical faults.

- Knowledge of relevant electrical safety requirements and engineering standards.

- Strong technical documentation, problem-solving and communication skills.
