About the Model:

The Embedded Student Nuclear Medicine position is a clinical education initiative designed to support students pursuing a career in Nuclear Medicine. Designed for ACT residents, this opportunity is ideal for Year 12 graduates and mature-age individuals pursuing a career in healthcare.

As part of this program,



students will be employed by Canberra Health Services for up to two days per week while undertaking the Bachelor of Medical Radiation (Nuclear Medicine - Industry Practice) through RMIT University. The role provides valuable workplace experience, supports achievement of course requirements, and includes fortnightly financial support throughout the program.

Important Information

If you are successful, Canberra Health Services will provide a letter of support for your application to the RMIT Embedded Student Model program. This letter must be submitted as part of your RMIT application.

Following acceptance into the course by RMIT University, Canberra Health Services will contact you to arrange orientation and commencement arrangements.

Please note prior to commencement successful candidates will be required to:

- Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
- Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required.
- Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy (Category A)
- Enrolment in the RMIT Embedded Student Nuclear Medicine Infied for this role.dustry Practice course - this will be confirmed between Canberra Health Services and RMIT once a successful candidate is identified for this role.

- What is Nuclear Medicine, and why are you interested in pursuing a career in with Canberra Health Services as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist?
- Provide some examples of where you have demonstrated your organisational skills, initiative, and self‑motivation.
- Describe a situation you have been in that involved you working with the public. What did you do and how did you work with others?
