We are working with a specialist energy trading business active across Australian and global energy markets.

The business combines quantitative analysis, deep NEM expertise and proprietary trading strategies to identify opportunities across power and renewable energy.

An opportunity for a Power & Energy Markets Trading Analyst to join a high-performing trading team, with a strong focus on electricity forwards, futures and broader energy derivatives.

The Role:

- Analyse the NEM, including wholesale pricing, generation, demand, interconnectors and market fundamentals
- Develop market views across Australian power forwards and futures, identifying trading opportunities across the curve
- Support trading across electricity forwards, futures and other energy derivatives
- Monitor market movements, positions and exposures and assess the impact on trading strategies
- Undertake quantitative analysis to identify pricing relationships, trends and market opportunities
- Support the development, testing and refinement of proprietary trading strategies




- Work closely with experienced traders to execute strategies and manage risk

About You:

- Strong knowledge of the NEM and the key drivers of Australian wholesale electricity prices
- Experience in NEM trading, energy market analysis, forecasting or quantitative modelling
- Understanding of generation, demand, transmission constraints and other factors influencing NEM pricing
- Exposure to forwards, futures, derivatives or commodity markets
- Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Python, SQL or similar analytical experience advantageous
- Degree in economics, finance, engineering, mathematics, science or similar
