Role Description The English Tutor role at Alfa Core Education is a part-time, on-site position based in Mount Waverley, VIC. The tutor will deliver engaging English lessons to school-age learners, covering areas such as reading comprehension, writing skills, vocabulary, and grammar, aligned with VCE, IB, NAPLAN, and scholarship requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and conducting small-group or one-on-one sessions, assessing student performance, and tailoring instruction to individual learning needs.

The tutor will provide feedback to students, contribute to progress reports,



and communicate key updates to parents and the ACE team. The role also involves preparing learning materials, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and supporting ACE’s commitment to academic excellence.

Qualifications

- Ability to deliver high-quality instruction in English Teaching, Tutoring, and, where needed, Online Tutoring.
- Strong command of English Grammar and written and spoken Communication skills.
- Experience working with school-age students in tutoring, classroom, or educational support settings.
- Capacity to differentiate instruction, personalize learning plans, and track student progress effectively.
- Organizational skills for lesson planning, assessment, and documentation of student outcomes.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to engage with parents, colleagues, and leadership to support learner success.
- Relevant qualification in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field (or current study toward such a qualification); teacher registration or tutoring experience is highly regarded.
- Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory teaching practices and creating a supportive learning setting.
