PTG Commercial Glazing is looking for an experienced an experienced estimator with a strong understanding of the commercial construction industry to join our Gold Coast team.

This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys the commercial side of construction, building strong client relationships and being involved in projects beyond simply preparing a quote.

You’ll be involved from the initial tender stage through to project award and coordination, working across a range of projects throughout Queensland and Recent South Wales.

Work closely with builders, shopfitters, suppliers and our internal team to identify opportunities, secure new work and help ensure a smooth transition from estimating through to procurement, fabrication and installation.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will include:

- Reviewing architectural drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Preparing accurate estimates, quantity take-offs, quotations and tenders for commercial glazing projects
- Completing material and labour take-offs for glass, aluminium, hardware and associated components
- Obtaining and assessing supplier and subcontractor pricing
- Reviewing project scope, inclusions, exclusions and potential commercial risks
- Preparing and submitting tenders within required deadlines
- Following up quotations and tenders with existing and prospective clients
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with builders, shopfitters, fitout companies and industry partners
- Identifying new project and sales opportunities
- Working with clients to identify suitable products, systems and solutions where required
- Assisting with project budgets, variations and cost tracking
- Coordinating awarded projects and assisting with procurement, lead times and key project milestones
- Liaising with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, site teams and internal staff throughout the project




- Maintaining accurate estimating, project and client records

About You

Ideally, you will have:
- Previous estimating experience within commercial glazing, aluminium windows and doors, shopfitting, construction or a similar industry
- A strong understanding of commercial glazing and aluminium systems
- Experience with quantity take-offs, estimating, quoting and tender preparation
- The ability to confidently read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent attention to detail
- Confidence building relationships and communicating with builders, project managers, suppliers and clients
- A proactive approach to following up opportunities and securing work
- Strong organisation and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem solving
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Office
- V6 experience highly regarded
- Experience across estimating, sales, business development or project coordination will be highly regarded
