About the role

We are seeking an experienced Excavator Operator/Truck Driver to join the team at Ozcat Pty Ltd on a casual basis. Based in North-Brisbane, this role is ideal for skilled operators who can work flexibly and are ready to take on varied tasks within the construction and plant machinery sector. You will be responsible for operating heavy machinery and operating vehicles to support our construction and earthmoving operations, bringing both technical expertise and a robust safety-focused approach to every project.

Key responsibilities

- Operate excavators safely and efficiently to complete earthmoving, excavation, and site preparation tasks

- Perform daily pre-operation and post-operation inspections and maintenance checks on machinery and trucks

- Transport materials, equipment, and machinery to and from job sites using appropriate vehicles

- Follow all relevant safety protocols, regulations, and site-specific procedures

- Communicate effectively with site supervisors, team members, and other contractors to ensure smooth operations

- Maintain accurate records of machinery usage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities

- Adapt to changing site conditions and project requirements, responding promptly to operational needs

- Ensure all equipment is returned to its designated location in good working condition

What we're looking for

- Current and valid Heavy Rigid (HR) or Articulated Heavy (HC/MC) licence

- Proven experience operating excavators in construction or earthmoving environments

- Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to heavy machinery operation and transport

- Demonstrated ability to operate machinery with precision and care, minimising damage and waste





- Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively on busy construction sites

- Reliability and punctuality, with a flexible approach to shift work and casual employment

- Experience with site induction procedures and compliance documentation

- Knowledge of load restraint and transportation safety standards is advantageous
