ABOUT THE ROLE
- Part time (0.4FTE)
- 24-month Fixed Term Contract
- Flexible remote Position
Reporting directly to the Executive Committee, the Executive Officer is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of SEATS while providing strategic leadership and support to members across the region.
This highly autonomous role requires an individual who can effectively engage with local government, industry, transport operators, freight stakeholders and all levels of government to advance priority transport and infrastructure outcomes.
The role is fully remote and offers considerable flexibility, with travel required approximately four times per year to attend meetings and events with member councils and stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead advocacy efforts on regional transport, freight, infrastructure and road safety priorities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with councils, government agencies, industry stakeholders and strategic partners.
- Represent the organisation at meetings, forums, workshops and industry events across the region.
- Drive the development and delivery of strategic plans, projects, business cases and funding submissions.
- Identify emerging opportunities, policy developments and investments that support regional transport outcomes.
- Provide high-quality governance and secretariat support, including preparing reports, agendas, briefings and coordinating committee meetings.
- Support financial oversight, membership growth and stakeholder engagement to ensure the ongoing success of the organisation.
ABOUT YOU To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, advocacy, government relations and/or strategic project management.
- Knowledge of the transport, freight, infrastructure, regional development or related sectors.
- Experience working across multiple government jurisdictions and building relationships in complex stakeholder environments.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports, submissions, business cases and other strategic documents.
- Highly developed organisational and administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- The ability to work independently, take initiative and deliver outcomes in a highly autonomous workplace.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, online meeting platforms and website content management systems.
- A current unrestricted driver's licence and willingness to travel throughout the SEATS region as required.
