We are looking for an experienced Chef or Cook to join our team at Caffe Cherry Beans Taigum.
We are a busy, established café located in Taigum, North Brisbane, serving a high volume of breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes.
This position is suited to someone who is fast, organised, reliable and confident working in a busy café kitchen.
About the Role
You will be responsible for preparing and cooking café-style breakfast and lunch dishes while maintaining consistent quality and presentation during busy service periods.
Our busiest period is breakfast and brunch, so the ability to work efficiently under pressure is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook breakfast, brunch and lunch menu items
- Manage multiple orders during busy service
- Maintain consistent food quality and presentation
- Follow recipes, portion control and kitchen procedures
- Complete food preparation before and during service
- Maintain a clean and organised workstation
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards
- Work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house team
- Assist with stock rotation, storage and reducing food waste
What We Are Looking For
Previous commercial kitchen experience is essential.
Ideally, you will have:
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Chef or Cook
- Experience in a busy café, breakfast or brunch kitchen
- Strong breakfast cooking skills
- Confidence working with eggs, grill, fryer and general café service
- Ability to work quickly while maintaining quality
- Good organisation and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently when required
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Good communication and teamwork
- Robust understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene
Experience in a high-volume café environment will be highly regarded.
Important
This is not an entry-level kitchen position.
We are specifically looking for someone who already understands commercial kitchen service and can become a productive member of the team quickly.
