We are seeking a full time gardener to work with a small family business based in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Operations are based out of Box Hill, travelling to jobs as necessary in areas such as Surrey Hills, Doncaster and East Malvern - With clients from residential, to commercial, to a local school.
This job would be suitable for somebody with demonstrated experience and qualifications in commercial and/or residential gardening, landscaping or "parks & gardens".
The successful applicant will be working either individually or with the business owner on a 5 day, 8 hour work structure (Weather/Job dependent). On a daily basis you will be expected to:
- Operate mowers, brush cutters, hedge-pruners and blowers with speed and accuracy
- Maintain garden beds, lawns and hedges
- Plant management - pests, diseases and planting
- Property maintenance tasks eg. bin management and stairwell cleaning
- Build relationships with customers
- Carry out basic invoicing, quoting and diary management
- install irrigation equipment and turf on occasion
Additional requirements/About You
- Have 3 years in the gardening industry (Essential)
- Have an unrestricted driver's licence and be able to reverse a trailer (Essential)
- Have or be able to obtain a Working with Children check (Essential)
- Be fast and skilled with brush cutter and hedge trimmers, etc (Essential )
- Have very good plant knowledge
- Be athletic, good hand-eye coordination
- Be enthusiastic about delivering work to be proud of
