E&I; Technician - GLNG Maintenance 7/7 & Monday-Friday Rosters | Curtis Island | Competitive Rates & Ongoing Opportunities Join a Team Supporting Critical LNG Operations UGL is seeking experienced E&I; Technicians to join our GLNG Maintenance Team on Curtis Island.

These are casual and permanent opportunities that is suited to locals offering ongoing work across a variety of maintenance activities within a world-class LNG facility. Positions are available across a combination of 7 days on / 7 days off rosters and Monday to Friday rosters , with roster allocation determined by operational and maintenance requirements.

About The Role As an E&I; Technician , you will be responsible for performing preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance activities across a broad range of electrical, instrumentation and control systems supporting LNG operations.

Working within the GLNG Maintenance Team, you will maintain and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation assets while contributing to the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the facility. The role includes supporting both non-critical and critical operating assets and OEM equipment.

Please note, this position is suited to locals and is not a FIFO opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Maintain and calibrate process instrumentation, transmitters, switches, control valves and analyzers.
- Complete testing, fault finding and repairs on electrical systems and equipment.
- Undertake testing and tagging of portable electrical equipment.
- Perform low, medium and high voltage switching activities where authorised.
- Service and maintain transformers, motors, switchgear, UPS systems and power distribution equipment.
- Conduct Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA) inspections.
- Maintain and troubleshoot PLC and SCADA systems.
- Support LNG loading operations through electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities.
- Enter maintenance information and work history into the CMMS system.
- Participate in shutdown activities and minor project works.
- Adhere to site safety, permit-to-work, quality and environmental requirements at all times.





About You Essential Requirements

- Certificate III in Electrotechnology
- Current Queensland Electrical Work Licence
- Certificate IV in Electrical Instrumentation
- Current Certificate IV in Hazardous Areas
- High Voltage Operator trained and assessed as competent
- Current Work Safely at Heights certification
- Current MSIC (Maritime Security Identification Card)
- Current C Class Driver's Licence
- EWP Licence (WP highly regarded)
- Minimum 5 years post-trade experience within Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, Chemical Processing or similar continuous processing environments
- Strong safety focus and commitment to quality workmanship

Highly Desirable

- 10+ years post-trade experience
- LNG or hydrocarbon processing plant experience
- Experience coordinating and directing HV switching programs
- Gas Detection certification
- Senior First Aid, CPR and Advanced Resuscitation certifications
- Confined Space Entry and Confined Space Watcher certification
- Breathing Apparatus certification
- Forklift High Risk Work Licence
- Experience with PLC, SCADA and advanced process control systems
- Experience maintaining hazardous area electrical equipment and instrumentation
