END USER COMPUTING ENGINEER / TECHNICAL OFFICER

Ability to obtain and maintain an AFP Security Clearance is required for this role.

Role Overview

The AFP is seeking an experienced End User Computing Engineer / Technical Officer to support the delivery and ongoing management of a secure, modern endpoint environment.

The role has a strong focus on Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID, Mobile Device Management, Android devices and endpoint security, with responsibility for configuring, administering and supporting mobile and end-user computing services across the AFP environment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

- Design, configure and manage Android mobile devices using Microsoft Intune MDM.
- Administer and support Microsoft Entra ID, including:
- Conditional Access.
- Identity governance and protection.
- Authentication policies.
- Group and device management.
- Role Based Access Control.

- Manage Azure services supporting Intune, Entra ID and secure endpoint connectivity.
- Configure application protection, device compliance and configuration policies.
- Implement and maintain endpoint security controls and security baselines.
- Troubleshoot technical issues across Intune, Entra ID, mobile devices and endpoint security.
- Support secure connectivity, proxy services and managed endpoint internet access.
- Maintain technical documentation, configuration records and operational procedures.
- Work collaboratively with AFP technical teams and stakeholders.

Essential Technical Experience

Candidates must demonstrate strong hands-on experience across:

- Microsoft Intune, including:




- Device enrolment.
- Mobile Device Management.
- Device compliance.
- Application deployment.
- Endpoint security.
- Policy management.

- Microsoft Entra ID, including:

- Conditional Access.
- Identity Protection.
- Authentication methods.
- Device identity.
- RBAC.
- Application integration.

- Administration and support of Android mobile devices.
- Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Endpoint and mobile device security.
- Troubleshooting complex end-user computing and identity issues.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must have:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or industry certifications.
- A minimum of five years' experience in a similar role.
- Significant hands-on experience administering Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Entra ID environments.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and complex stakeholder environments.

Location and Working Arrangements

The role is based in Canberra, ACT and requires a minimum of four days per week on-site to support team and stakeholder engagement.

This opportunity would suit an experienced End User Computing Engineer, EUC Engineer, Endpoint Engineer, Intune Engineer, Modern Workplace Engineer or Microsoft 365 Endpoint Specialist.

The strongest candidates will bring deep practical experience across Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, Android MDM, endpoint security and identity management, combined with strong troubleshooting skills and experience operating within complex enterprise environments.
