An established South Australian business with a complex operational workforce is seeking an experienced Executive General Manager – People & Culture to join its leadership team.

This is a newly positioned senior leadership opportunity for an experienced people and culture professional who can combine strategic thinking with strong commercial and operational understanding.

You'll have the opportunity to influence business decisions, strengthen organisational capability and help shape the culture and workforce strategy of an established organisation.

Your Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll provide strategic leadership across the full People & Culture function, working closely with the Executive Team and broader leadership group.

You'll be responsible for:

- Developing and delivering the organisation's people and workforce strategy
- Leading workforce planning, talent management and organisational development
- Building leadership capability and strengthening performance practices
- Providing strategic advice on employee and industrial relations matters
- Managing workplace relations, performance, grievances and employment matters
- Ensuring people policies, processes and governance remain compliant and practical
- Overseeing workforce data, reporting, analytics and people-related insights
- Identifying and managing people, employment and organisational risks
- Supporting organisational change and continuous improvement
- Building strong relationships across the Executive, operational and corporate teams
- Leading and developing the People & Culture team




- Providing commercially practical advice that supports broader business objectives

The role will also work closely with HSEQ, Finance and Operations to ensure People & Culture provides reliable, timely and commercially focused support to the wider business.

About You

You're an experienced senior People & Culture leader who understands that effective people strategy needs to support both people and business performance.

You'll demonstrate:

- Senior leadership experience within a complex operational or service-based organisation
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Relations or a related discipline, and/or equivalent senior-level industry experience
- Strong commercial understanding and the ability to balance people, operational and financial priorities
- Proven ability to influence, coach and develop leaders at all levels
- Strong knowledge of employee and industrial relations
- Experience interpreting and applying employment legislation, Awards and Enterprise Agreements
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience managing complex and sensitive people matters with discretion
- Solid analytical and digital capability,



including the ability to use workforce data to support decision-making
- Experience presenting information and recommendations to senior leadership
- A current unrestricted driver's licence

Experience within crane hire, heavy lifting, heavy transport, construction, resources, infrastructure or another project-based service environment will be highly regarded.

You'll work closely with senior leadership to strengthen systems, develop leaders, manage organisational risk and build a workplace culture focused on safety, accountability, continuous improvement and performance.
