Dental Receptionist
Dunstan Dental | Clayton
$30–$40 per hour | Full-time — part time considered for the right candidate

Bring your warmth, confidence and organisational skills to a team that values you.

Are you a natural people person who enjoys making others feel welcome? Can you confidently guide a conversation, keep things organised and help a busy team have a smooth day?

At Dunstan Dental we’re looking for a friendly, proactive receptionist who takes pride in looking after people and getting the details right.

We’re a family-owned practice where relationships matter. You’ll be an important part of our team, helping patients feel comfortable and supported while working closely with our dentists and dental assistants.

There’s plenty to enjoy about working with us:

Regular weekday hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am–5:30 pm.

Time for yourself: a rostered day off every second week.

An easy commute: conveniently located close to the train station at 31 Dunstan Street, Clayton.

Support around you: approachable colleagues, guidance as you learn our systems and a team that helps one another.

Room to grow: opportunities to build your skills, contribute ideas and take ownership of your role.

We’d love to meet someone with these qualities:

Warmth and empathy. You make people feel important, heard and remembered. You understand that a reassuring conversation can make a real difference to an anxious patient.

Confident communication. You can take the lead in a conversation,

ask thoughtful questions and keep discussions focused while remaining friendly and respectful.

An understanding of patients’ needs. You listen carefully, recognise concerns and help people understand their next steps.

Strong organisation. You can manage dentists’ appointment books and rosters, anticipate gaps, coordinate changes and keep everyone informed.

Confidence working with dentists. You’re comfortable communicating priorities, following up on outstanding matters and giving clear, courteous reminders to keep the day running smoothly.

A collaborative approach. You work well with clinicians, assistants and reception colleagues, share information and step in when someone needs a hand.

Accuracy and follow-through. From patient records and enquiries to payments and end-of-day reconciliation, you take care with the details and finish what you start.

Initiative and composure. You notice what needs doing, work through competing priorities and bring a constructive attitude to busy days.

Your day will include welcoming patients, handling phone and email enquiries, coordinating appointments, supporting treatment follow-ups and keeping our front office organised.
