We are looking for an enthusiastic experienced Family Day Care Coordinator to join our Team at Mindful Learners Family Day Care. We are a small family-orientated business that endeavour in creating a highly supportive environment for its team. The service has achieved a Meeting Requirements rating in September 2026.

The role is initially offered as a casual role with regular weekly hours. For the right candidate , this role will lead to a permanent Coordinator and educational leader role.

n

The candidate needs to be available Monday to Friday from end of November to end of January. Hours can be flexible

n

Key Responsibilities:

n

n
- Mentor, train, and provide ongoing professional development for Family Day Care (FDC) educators.
n
- Monitor educator practices, ensure adherence to the National Quality Framework (NQF) , Family Assistance Law and maintain high standards of child safety, health, and education.
n
- Assist educators in designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for children and work in collaboration with the NSO and director to achieve QIP goals
n
- Communicate with families, address concerns, and build strong relationships.
n
- Manage record-keeping, guideline implementation, and day-to-day operations.
n
- Ensure a safe, healthy, and stimulating home-based environment for children.
n

Core Duties:

- Conducting home visits to provide hands-on support.
n
- Contribute to the development and updating service policies and procedures.
n
- Recruiting and vetting potential educators.
n




- Monitoring educator portfolios and performance.
n
- Supporting the service and the educators in ensuring that children are central to our practice and operations
n
- Organizing training and professional learning opportunities.
n
- Be an advocate for inclusive practices and providing equitable opportunities to children.
n

Key Skills & Qualifications:

n

n
- Diploma-level qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent).
n
- Current Asthma and anaphylaxis certificate and CPR (early childhood)
n
- A police check within the last 6 months
n
- Child Protection Certificate
n
- National Child Safety Certificate Foundation 1 and 2
n
- Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
n
- Excellent communication and people skills
n
- Be a team player
n
- Need to have a valid driver's licence and a car is preferable
n
- Above all, a genuine passion for early children and be the champion of every child!
n
- Thorough knowledge of the ECEC National Laws and Regulations and Family Assistance Law
n
- Knowledge of CCS software highly desired
n
- At least 2 years' experience as a family day care coordinator is highly desirable or equivalent experience in long day care settings will be considered
n
