New Lambton Service Centre is seeking a skilled and experienced Motor Mechanic to join their team on a permanent full-time basis at a minimum of 38 hours per week. The role will be located at Recent Lambton, NSW. New Lambton Service Centre is an established automotive servicing centre offering a range of services including general repairs, servicing, and registration checks for motor vehicles servicing the surrounding areas of Newcastle, NSW.

The Motor Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, servicing, and repairing motor vehicles to ensure they are safe and roadworthy. This is a great opportunity for an experienced motor mechanic looking for a stable role in a well-regarded local service centre.

The role will include:

inspect motor vehicles to identify mechanical faults and issues.

diagnose engine, transmission, steering, braking, suspension, electrical, and fuel system faults using diagnostic equipment and techniques.

carry out scheduled servicing and maintenance on motor vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications.

perform general mechanical repairs on engines, gearboxes, differentials, braking systems, steering, suspension, and exhaust systems.

remove, dismantle, and reassemble engines and engine components.

repair or replace worn or defective parts, including brake pads, rotors, filters, belts, hoses, spark plugs, and batteries.





conduct registration inspections (rego checks) and safety checks in accordance with NSW regulations.

perform wheel alignments, tyre fitting, and balancing.

test and repair air conditioning systems in motor vehicles.

use computerised diagnostic equipment to identify and interpret fault codes.

road test vehicles to verify repairs and overall vehicle performance.

maintain accurate service and repair records.

advise customers on vehicle condition, required repairs, and ongoing maintenance needs.

order and manage parts and supplies as required.

maintain workshop tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.

comply with workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements and environmental regulations.

keep up to date with advances in automotive technology and repair techniques.

work as part of a team and be a team player.

About You

Proven experience as a Motor Mechanic in a workshop or service centre environment, including at least one year of relevant work experience as a Motor Mechanic.

Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across a range of vehicle systems.

Proficient in the use of modern diagnostic tools and equipment.

Sound knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems.

Ability to perform registration (rego) inspections under NSW requirements.

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to customers.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Current and valid Australian driver’s licence.
