Civil Estimator | HV Substation EPC | Sydney, NSW | Permanent

We're recruiting a Civil Estimator for an Australian-owned HV engineering and EPC business with a growing substation portfolio and a strong technical bench behind it.

This is a genuine opportunity to own the civil side of the estimate on live HV substation projects, working alongside an established Bid team and technical delivery staff who know the space inside out.

What you'll be doing:

- Preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates for civil, structural and earthworks packages on HV substation projects
- Completing quantity take-offs and pricing earthworks, drainage, foundations, retaining structures and concrete works
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and scopes of work to identify risks and value-engineering opportunities
- Obtaining, assessing and negotiating supplier and subcontractor pricing
- Building and maintaining a network of reliable civil subcontractors and suppliers
- Working closely with the Electrical Estimator and Bid Manager to pull together compliant, well-priced tender submissions
- Contributing to post-tender reviews and keeping cost databases and benchmarking data current





What you'll bring:

- Solid estimating experience in civil, structural or earthworks packages, ideally on substation, transmission or broader HV infrastructure projects
- Confidence reading and interpreting civil drawings, specifications and contract documentation
- Strong Excel skills; experience with estimating platforms (e.g. CCS/Candy, Expert Estimation) is a plus
- A methodical, detail-focused approach and the ability to manage multiple tenders to deadline
- Positive commercial instincts when it comes to risk, pricing and subcontractor negotiation
