You'll love this role if you're an experienced actuarial professional who wants more than a role focused on producing analysis and reporting.

You’ll work across pricing, underwriting and portfolio performance, using data to understand what is happening, why it is happening and what we should do about it. You’ll have the opportunity to follow problems from initial analysis through to recommendation, implementation and monitoring.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail, challenging assumptions and applying actuarial thinking to real commercial decisions.

You won’t be sitting on the sidelines producing analysis for someone else to interpret. You’ll get exposure to the full lifecycle of a decision, from identifying an issue in the portfolio, working out what is driving it and recommending a response, through to helping implement the change and understanding the outcome.

You’ll also work across multiple areas of the business, giving you broader commercial exposure than a traditional actuarial role.

What you’ll be doing

- Analysing portfolio and underwriting performance to identify emerging trends, risks and opportunities
- Using Excel, SQL and actuarial techniques to investigate complex business problems and develop actionable recommendations
- Supporting pricing initiatives through analysis, modelling and commercial recommendations
- Testing and implementing pricing and underwriting changes with operational teams
- Working directly with stakeholders across Product, Marketing, Operations and Actuarial




- Translating complex analysis into clear recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Improving the tools, reporting and processes the team uses to make decisions

What excellent looks like

- Several years of actuarial experience, ideally within general insurance, pricing or a similarly analytical commercial environment
- Strong Excel, SAS and SQL capability and confidence working directly with large datasets
- Ability to work through an ambiguous problem rather than waiting for a predefined analytical task
- Confidence questioning results, challenging assumptions and investigating what is driving an outcome
- Ability to turn analysis into a clear recommendation and course of action
- Confidence communicating with stakeholders who may not have an actuarial or technical background
- Progress beyond an actuarial degree and continued actuarial studies or professional development

- Hybrid model – in office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
- Location - Youi HQ - Sippy Downs, Sunshine Coast or Chermside
- Standard hours - 8:00am – 4:00pm (flexible where needed)
