The Civil Engineering Draftsperson will be responsible for preparing detailed civil engineering drawings, plans, layouts and technical documentation associated with Sungold Solar's solar installation and renewable energy projects. The role will primarily focus on the civil engineering components of solar projects, including site layouts, foundations, footings, equipment pads, access areas, earthworks, drainage, cable trenches, underground services and associated civil infrastructure. The successful applicant will work closely with engineers, project managers, site supervisors and construction personnel to translate engineering concepts, site information and technical specifications into accurate construction drawings and project documentation.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings, plans, layouts and construction documentation for solar and renewable energy projects.
- Prepare site layout drawings showing solar panel arrays, equipment locations, access areas and associated infrastructure.
- Prepare drawings for foundations, footings, concrete slabs, equipment pads and structural supports.
- Prepare civil drawings for ground-mounted solar systems and related renewable energy infrastructure.
- Prepare trenching, conduit, pit and underground service layouts in coordination with electrical and engineering teams.
- Prepare earthworks, grading and site preparation drawings where required.
- Assist with drainage and stormwater layouts associated with solar installation projects.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, architectural plans, survey information, technical specifications and site measurements.
- Prepare plans, sections,



elevations and construction details using AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar drafting software.
- Convert engineering sketches, concepts, calculations and specifications into accurate technical drawings.

About you

- Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Design, Civil Construction Design, Engineering Drafting or a closely related discipline.
- Relevant experience in civil engineering drafting, design or construction documentation.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Experience with Civil 3D or similar civil engineering design software will be highly regarded.
- Ability to interpret civil, structural, architectural and engineering drawings.
- Understanding of civil construction principles, including foundations, earthworks, drainage, trenching and site development.
- Strong technical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
