Position: Project Manager

Location: Ivory Coast

To provide effective and visual on ground safety leadership ensuring at all times that your Duty of Care is maintained to the highest level, providing a secure and proactive working environment for all persons within that environment and to direct all drilling activities, administrative duties and ensure all procedures are adhered to at the project site.

Job Requirements

- The Project Manager is responsible for the Project operations of Capital Drilling inclusive of conformance with pertinent HSE and legislative requirements;
- Consistent with these responsibilities, the Manager with assistance from the Supervisor(s) shall provide and be accountable for ensuring that identified training needs are proactively addressed;
- Undertake identified Compliance Activity Requirements within the allotted timeframes;
- Provide constructive & effective feedback to Country HSE Manager on identified training related issues and/or development requirements;
- Progressively strive to develop skill levels pertaining to safety management practices and protocols;
- Schedule and direct drilling activities to ensure efficient allocation of resources throughout the site.
- Achieve efficiency and profitability through compliance with financial, administrative and operational systems and procedures
- Adhere to daily reporting of drilling time sheets




- Manage day to day issues to ensure cost effectiveness.
- Develop strategies to improve efficiency and ensure smooth operation of the site.
- Ensure proper operating practice in the care and use of equipment.
- Negotiate with clients for the procurement of contracts.
- Prepare monthly drilling forecast reports.
- Ensure all safety policies and procedures are adhered to throughout the camp, work shop and drilling sites.
- Undertake regular, fair and objective performance appraisals of team members.

- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of current safety practices
- Sound people management skills
- Strong understanding of the statutory labour law requirements in the country of operation desirable
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of exploration drilling
- Communicate clearly.
- Implement and monitor the site’s safety and health programs, policies and procedures to meet legislative and corporate requirements.
- Identify hazards and apply risk management processes to the work they are supervising.
- Coordinate resources.
- Develop teams and individuals.
- Show leadership in the workplace.
- Establish effective workplace relationships.
- Investigate accidents and incidents.

Training and Education Required

- RII50609 Diploma in Drilling Operations

Experience Required

- BSB41407 Certificate IV in OHS
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a management or supervisory position
- Experience in site administration and current safety practices
- Experience in drilling preferred
