About The Opportunity

Join Hunter New England Local Health District as a Human Resources Business Partner and provide HR advice, coaching and consultancy services to support managers and staff to effectively deliver quality health care. Based at Waratah Campus, you will work as part of a team of four within the broader People & Culture team. Reporting directly to the team manager Melissa Booth, you will build strong partnerships with managers and senior business managers, providing timely and appropriate advice across a broad range of HR matters.

In this role, you will:

Provide consistent and appropriate HR advice and coach line managers to build their capability in managing staffing responsibilities effectively.

Conduct grading and job evaluation activities for roles within the district to ensure alignment with organisational structures and standards.

Undertake straightforward investigations and assist senior HR staff with more complex investigations.

Prepare documentation and support managers with performance management processes and straightforward organisational changes.

Assist with HR metric analysis and reporting, make informed judgements on HR risks and elevate issues when required.

Contribute to HR initiatives including employee engagement, diversity and succession planning.

Maintain accurate records of issues and projects and provide regular feedback to management on HR-related performance and developments.

About You

You will bring:

A sound understanding of employee relations, as well as strategic and operational human resources, with a commitment to contemporary HR business solutions.

The ability to determine appropriate and sound HR solutions to improve productivity and organisational effectiveness.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with customers, managers and stakeholders.

The ability to influence others, supported by sound coaching and mentoring skills.

The ability to multitask, manage competing priorities and adapt to changing requirements.

Initiative and a proactive approach to identifying issues, seeking solutions and supporting effective outcomes.

Appropriate qualifications and/or experience in Human Resources Management/Industrial Relations or qualifications and/or experience deemed equivalent.

Current driver's license and ability to travel throughout HNELHD as required by the role.
