Sante Recruitment is seeking a Senior Medical Officer to join the healthcare team at Maryborough Correctional Centre, providing high-quality primary healthcare to patients within a secure correctional environment.

Permanent full-time (80 hours per fortnight) or permanent part-time positions are available, with part time hours negotiable.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Medical Officer, you will provide high-quality, best-practice primary healthcare to prisoners within your scope of practice.

- Comprehensive assessment and management of patients
- Providing ongoing primary healthcare within the correctional environment
- Managing acute and chronic medical conditions
- Developing and implementing appropriate treatment and care plans
- Referring patients to hospitals, specialist clinics and other health services when required
- Working collaboratively with nursing, allied health and other healthcare professionals
- Supporting continuity and quality of care
- Contributing to clinical governance and contemporary healthcare practices

One of the unique attractions of this position is the potential opportunity to establish a private medical practice alongside your Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service appointment.

- Use of local private hospital sessional rooms to assist with establishing your practice
- Assistance with credentialling and administrative requirements

Remuneration & Benefits

A highly competitive remuneration package is available, with a total package of up to $564,548 p.a.

Salary

- $192,257 – $281,545 p.a. full-time
- $92.11 – $134.89 per hour part-time
- Employer superannuation of up to 12.75%

You Will Have

- Appropriate medical qualifications
- Current or eligibility for registration with AHPRA
- Experience in primary care, general practice or a comparable medical environment
- Strong clinical assessment and management skills
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
- A commitment to evidence-based and culturally appropriate healthcare
- The ability to work effectively within a correctional healthcare workplace
