Applied Geotechnical Drilling Pty Ltd is seeking a Geotechnical Driller's Offsider to join our team on a casual basis. This role is based in Brendale, QLD 4500 and offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in the geotechnical drilling industry. As an Offsider, you will work alongside experienced drillers to support all aspects of drilling operations, contributing to the successful completion of geotechnical investigations and site assessments across Queensland.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting qualified drillers with the setup, operation and maintenance of drilling equipment
- Preparing drill sites and ensuring all safety protocols are adhered to
- Helping to manage drilling fluids, materials and equipment on site
- Recording drilling data and maintaining accurate site documentation
- Assisting with sample collection and bore hole management
- Supporting the safe and efficient completion of drilling operations
- Maintaining equipment and ensuring the drill rig is kept in good working condition
- Assisting with site cleanup and restoration following drilling activities
- Communicating effectively with drillers and site supervisors to ensure smooth operations
What we're looking for
- A willingness to learn and develop skills in geotechnical drilling operations
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks in varying weather conditions
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety practices
- Reliability and punctuality,
with the ability to work flexibly on a casual basis
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A current driver's licence is advantageous
- Previous experience in construction, drilling or a related field is preferred but not essential
- A willingness to undertake relevant training and certifications as required
