About the role

Rainbow Town Play Centre Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced, hands‑on Venue Manager to lead the daily operation of our large indoor play and family entertainment venue in Glen Waverley. This is a key leadership role responsible for venue operations, team performance, customer experience, safety, compliance and business growth.

Key responsibilities

- Manage the day-to-day operation of the entire venue.
- Lead, train, support and supervise front‑of‑house, café, party, cleaning and floor staff.
- Prepare staff rosters and ensure appropriate staffing during weekends, school holidays and peak periods.
- Maintain high standards of customer service, cleanliness and venue presentation.
- Ensure play equipment and venue facilities are regularly checked and maintained safely.
- Manage workplace health and safety, child safety, emergency procedures and incident reporting.
- Handle customer enquiries, complaints and operational issues professionally.
- Oversee birthday parties, group bookings, events and venue activities.
- Supervise café operations, stock control, ordering, cash handling and daily reconciliation.
- Monitor operating costs, revenue, memberships, sales and key performance targets.
- Assist with local marketing, promotions and community engagement.
- Prepare regular operational and performance reports for company management.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, food and local regulatory requirements.

About you





- Minimum 3 years of management experience in an indoor play centre, family entertainment venue, hospitality venue, leisure centre, retail operation or similar environment.
- Robust leadership, coaching and staff‑management skills.
- Excellent customer‑service and problem‑solving abilities.
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety and operational compliance.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during incidents and busy periods.
- Strong organisational, rostering and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work weekends, school holidays and public holidays when required.
- Full working rights in Australia.

Highly regarded

- Ability to communicate confidently in Mandarin and English, given the venue’s customer and stakeholder communication needs.
- Current Victorian Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain one before commencement.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Food Safety Supervisor certification.
- Experience managing a café or food‑service operation.
- Experience with events, birthday parties, memberships or family entertainment venues.
