About the role

The firm is seeking a 2-5 PQE lawyer or associate (title commensurate on experience) to join its employment practice. This is not a replacement role, but a growth role given the increased volume of employment law work.

You will be responsible for:

- Advising employers on a variety of advisory, contentious and strategic workplace matters in employment law, industrial relations law, work health and safety law, and discrimination law
- Having day-to-day conduct of the provision of advice
- Preparing documents for and attending proceedings in the Fair Work Commission and the Australian Human Rights Commission
- Drafting court documents, including affidavits, concise statements,



witness statements, and interlocutory applications
- Working with and instruct counsel for litigated matters
- Advising high net worth clients regarding their employment law issues
- Conducting legal research into the latest updates in employment and discrimination law

The ideal candidate

- 2-5 years PQE in employment, workplace or industrial law, or a related field
- Applicants with strong employment relations or workplace relations experience will be considered (must be admitted, or able to be admitted)
- Confident and able to communicate with clients
- Empathetic and solid-willed
- Wants ownership of their work and advice
- Interested in developing their career in employment law
