About the role

We are seeking an experienced Internal Recruiter to join McIlwain Civil Engineering Pty Ltd on either a full-time or part-time basis. Based in Murarrie QLD 4172, this role is pivotal in identifying, attracting and securing talented professionals to support the growth and success of our organisation. As an Internal Recruiter, you will play a strategic role in building and maintaining our workforce, working closely with hiring managers and senior leadership to understand our talent needs and deliver recruitment solutions that align with our business objectives. This position offers flexibility with the option of part-time arrangements, allowing you to balance qualified responsibilities with personal commitments.

Key responsibilities

- Source and identify qualified candidates through various recruitment channels, including job boards, industry networks and direct outreach
- Screen applications and conduct preliminary interviews to assess candidate suitability and cultural fit
- Coordinate the full recruitment lifecycle, from job posting through to offer stage
- Liaise with hiring managers to understand role requirements, competencies and team dynamics




- Build and maintain a talent pipeline of prospective candidates for current and future vacancies
- Manage recruitment documentation, track candidate progress and maintain accurate records in recruitment systems
- Attend industry events and participate in recruitment marketing activities to enhance employer brand awareness

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working as a recruiter, ideally within internal recruitment, human resources or talent acquisition roles
- Strong knowledge of recruitment best practices, employment law and fair hiring principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with candidates, hiring managers and stakeholders at all levels
- Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment software
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple recruitment projects simultaneously and meet agreed timelines
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to changing recruitment needs
