AI Governance Analyst

We're looking for an experienced AI Governance Analyst to join a Government organisation and support a key program of work across AI governance, assurance and governance uplift.

n

A major focus will be coordinating AI assessments and governance activities aligned with Government AI requirements, alongside progressing priority audit, assurance and compliance actions.

n

What You'll Be Doing

n

- Coordinate AI governance activities and AI assessments in line with Government requirements.
n
- Support and progress the organisation's AI governance work program.
n
- Maintain AI governance registers, ensuring quality, accuracy and appropriate escalation of high-risk or overdue matters.
n
- Progress priority actions arising from internal audits, assurance activities and policy commitments.
n
- Support implementation and uplift of the AI governance operating model, including ownership, decision rights, lifecycle controls and escalation pathways.
n
- Develop and improve governance processes and artefacts supporting scalable AI adoption.
n
- Support governance activities relating to Copilot, AI agents and emerging AI use cases.
n

About You

n

You'll be an experienced governance,



risk or assurance skilled who understands AI governance within the NSW Government environment and can work autonomously with minimal direction.

n

To be considered, you will need

n

n
- Previous NSW Government experience - essential.
n
- Experience with the NSW Government AI Assessment Framework (AIAF) and AI assessments - essential.
n
- Strong experience across AI governance, risk, assurance and compliance.
n
- Experience implementing or working with governance frameworks, policies, controls and compliance requirements.
n
- Experience coordinating governance assessments, reviews and assurance activities across multiple stakeholders.
n
- Understanding of AI lifecycle governance, including ownership, decision rights, controls and escalation pathways.
n
- Experience maintaining governance registers, tracking actions and progressing audit or assurance findings.
n
- Strong written communication skills, including executive reporting, governance papers, briefings and audit evidence.
