About the role

As a Protective Security and Facilities Officer, you will support the day-to-day security, facilities, and workplace operations of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (Cth) (CDPP).

The role requires you to be responsive and organised, with the ability to manage competing requests, identify issues and take appropriate action within established policies and procedures.

You will work closely with staff across the CDPP and external service providers to ensure our workplace remains safe, secure, functional, and fit for purpose.

What will you bring?

You will bring experience in one or more of the following specialisations: security, facilities, property, workplace services, or a similar operational environment. An interest in and willingness to learn aspects of this role they are not already familiar with, will be required.

In this role you must have:

- the ability to coordinate day-to-day facilities and security activities;
- expertise to assess issues, resolve routine problems and escape matters when required;
- confidence in maintaining accurate records, registers, and systems;
- a practical approach to customer service and responding to workplace requests;
- an understanding of workplace safety, security, and compliance requirements; and
- capacity to work independently while contributing effectively to a small team.

- able to work across a range of operational priorities, respond calmly to issues and provide a professional service to staff, contractors, and other stakeholders; and
- able to demonstrate sound judgement, attention to detail and a willingness to identify improvements to security and facilities processes.

You will also understand the importance of confidentiality, security and following established procedures when dealing with sensitive workplace matters therefore previous experience in an APS department, facilities, property, or regulated workplace will be highly regarded.
