Role Description
The Support Worker role at Lilacare Pty Ltd is an on-site position based in Wagga Wagga, NSW. In this role, the Support Worker provides person-centred assistance to individuals in their homes and communities, supporting daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, medication prompts (within scope), and domestic tasks. The position involves facilitating social and community participation, accompanying individuals to appointments and activities, and promoting independence, safety, and dignity. The Support Worker maintains accurate records,
follows care plans and safeguarding procedures, and communicates regularly with families, coordinators, and health professionals to ensure consistent, high-quality support. Flexibility is required to work across various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays, in line with participant needs.
Qualifications
- Experience as Support Workers or in a direct care role within disability, aged care, or community services.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build trust, listen actively, and respond respectfully to diverse needs.
- Understanding of Safeguarding practices, duty of care, and compliance with relevant legislation and organizational policies.
- Basic Technical Support capabilities, including use of mobile devices, care management apps, and documentation systems.
- Relevant qualifications such as Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, or equivalent (or willingness to obtain).
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates, National Police Check, Working With Children Check, and NDIS Worker Screening (or eligibility to apply).
- Ability to work safely and independently, follow care plans, manage time effectively, and maintain professional boundaries.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle for transport-related supports are highly regarded.
