Vegetation Management Shift Supervisor - Day shift

We are seeking a motivated, reliable, hands‑on and experienced crew member for our vegetation maintenance team. The role is for a 7/7 family friendly roster working on the surface of a mine site within the Moranbah region, and has accommodation and meals provided whilst on shift. The role requires you to oversee a small crew working within the Environmental team to control and maintain the vegetation around the site surface infrastructure.

To be successful in this role we are looking for:

- a minimum of 2 years of mine site experience (supervisory role preferable)

- Current CMWHS (Health assessment) / CBM

- Current Standard 11

- ACDC / Weed spraying certificate (extensive experience will also be considered)

- Competencies or tickets with a minimum of 2 years of operating experience in the below

- Tractor Operations

- Skid Steer

- Excavator

- Backhoe

- Chainsaw

- Current Australian Driver Licence

- Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid work visa with appropriate work rights.

- G1, G8, G9 & G2 Supervisor certificates will be highly regarded

- Solid computer literacy skills are required as we use electronic systems daily for task management

- A firm understanding of the importance of meeting inherent safety requirements of the site. Mandatory items can include clean shaven, drug and alcohol free, adherence to wearing PPE such as hard hats, safety boots, safety glasses etc.

- At least 3 years of previous work history in vegetation management.

- It would also be beneficial to have basic mechanical knowledge, gas test atmosphere training,



EWP / high risk work licence and experience felling trees.

As a Vegetation Management Shift Supervisor your duties will include (but not be limited to);

- Supervision of a small crew to ensure project requirements and any changing site needs are met including the coordination of day‑to‑day resource allocations to match timelines, monitor ongoing operations to identify risks or issues early, and lead proactive problem solving efforts when required

- Conduct and follow risk assessments and procedures, working in line with SHMS and site requirements.

- Engage in daily pre‑start and toolbox meetings to foster a productive team environment, and collaborate with the manager, client and stakeholders to ensure high standards of quality, environmental compliance and health and safety are met within the planning and timelines.

- Operation of machinery and attachments with basic servicing or maintenance as required

- Control vegetation around site surface infrastructure such as gas pipelines, process plants, electrical overheads and water bodies.

- Operational works within the Environmental team such as weed spraying, slashing, data collection and monitoring, fence repairs, escorting vehicles, working with wildlife and cattle, and physical maintenance tasks (lawn mowing, whippersnipping, weeding gardens, removing foliage, tree felling)

- Working with electronic systems for scheduling, recording and monitoring with clients and stakeholders.
