Female Disability Support Worker – Macedonian / Serbian / Croatian / Bosnian Speaking | Hurstville NSW

The Role

n

We have an elderly participant based in Hurstville who needs dedicated, high-quality support to keep living independently and stay connected with her community. She speaks limited English, so we are looking for a female support worker who is fluent in either Macedonian, Serbian, Croatian or Bosnian. This is a 24/7 supports role, with successful applicants receiving 30+ hours per week across in-home and community shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evenings and sleepovers.

About the Participant

n

Our participant is a Macedonian elderly lady who lives on her own. She is recovering from a stroke and perks from warm, patient and consistent support that also looks after her emotional wellbeing. Because she has limited English, being able to talk with her in her own language is essential. It helps her feel understood, comfortable and in control of her own care.

- Transfers and mobility support
n
- Social and community participation
n
- In-home care and household tasks
n

n

Who We're Looking For

n

n
- Female applicants preferred
n
- Fluent in Macedonian, Serbian, Croatian or Bosnian (spoken or able to understand, essential)
n
- NSW driver's licence and access to a reliable car




n
- At least one year's experience as a Disability Support Worker (preferred)
n
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
n
- First Aid & CPR
n
- Working With Children Check and Police Check
n
- Cert III/IV in Individual Support (Disability, Ageing) or equivalent (preferred)
n
- Current ABN, or willing to obtain one
n

Key Tasks

- Support daily living tasks and household routines
n
- Support community access and social participation, including connecting with her cultural community
n
- Provide transport to appointments and activities
n
- Encourage skills-building, independence and wellbeing
n
- Maintain accurate records and report on client progress
n
- Use CRM software
n

Job Type: Subcontract (ABN required)

Pay: $55 – $123 per hour; higher rates apply for evenings, weekends, public holidays and sleepover shifts
