Work with systems that move things, make things and control a production plant

n

We're looking for a Systems & Control Engineer to help run, connect and improve the technology behind our highly automated almond processing facility.

n

This isn't a conventional IT support role. You'll work across IT, Operational Technology, automation and production, supporting everything from business software and data systems through to automated plant and machinery.

n

- Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs)
n
- PLC & SCADA-controlled machinery
n
- MES & Warehouse Management Systems
n
- Automated sorting, packing and material-handling equipment
n
- Production, inventory and product traceability systems
n
- Specialist platforms including OFS, ALMADS, Onside, Sage, C-Way and Team Assurance
n
- Microsoft 365, Excel, SharePoint and reporting/data tools
n

n

Your challenge is to help make these systems talk to each other and work reliably together.

n

The Role:

n

You'll work alongside Production, Automation, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality and IT to:

n

n
- Troubleshoot system, data and integration problems
n
- Connect production equipment, PLC/SCADA,



MES/WMS, AGVs and business systems
n
- Improve automation and eliminate unnecessary manual processes
n
- Develop better reporting, dashboards and data visibility
n
- Support new system installations, testing and commissioning
n
- Find practical ways technology can make the plant more reliable, efficient and easier to operate.
n

The Person:

n

We're seeking someone with strong technical curiosity, systems thinking and problem-solving ability who can understand how machinery, software, data and people interact.

n

Ideally, you'll bring experience in some combination of:

n

n
- Operational Technology
n
- Automation
n
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) / Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
n
- Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) / Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
n
- Automatic Guided Vehicles (AGV's)
n
- Databases/SQL, Microsoft 365, Excel, Power BI
n

n

Experience in food processing, manufacturing, automated warehousing or another highly automated workplace would be a significant advantage.

n

A relevant qualification in IT, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, Science or a related discipline is required.
