Business Development Manager - Tennis Robotics & Court Solutions
We are expanding our tennis robotics business in Australia and are looking for a Business Development Manager who can build customers and channel partnerships from the ground up in Sydney. Products include intelligent tennis ball machines, tennis training robots, smart training equipment and related court solutions.
The role focuses on B2B customer development, channel management, product demonstrations and trials, project-based sales and long-term account growth. It is not a simple retail or telesales position. Target customers include tennis clubs, academies, coaches, schools and universities, community sports facilities, hotels, commercial court operators, sporting goods retailers, distributors and agents.
The role also supports market validation. Through customer and channel discussions, you will help us understand local demand, budgets, procurement processes, competitors, after‑sales requirements and partnership models, and use these insights to improve product positioning, pricing and local delivery.
Position Summary

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales and channel expansion plans for Sydney and New South Wales, with accountability for regional revenue, gross margin, collections and customer coverage.
- Develop tennis clubs, academies, coaches, schools, universities, sports venues, commercial court operators and relevant channel customers, building a qualified B2B pipeline.
- Manage key accounts and projects through the full sales cycle, including needs analysis, venue assessment, product demonstration, trial, configuration, quotation, negotiation, contract, delivery coordination and payment follow‑up.
- Recruit and manage local agents, distributors, sporting goods retailers and venue partners, supporting channel onboarding, pricing, demo units, training and sales programs.
- Work with brand, marketing and partners to deliver product experience days, club activities, coach training and event partnerships that generate leads and sales.
- Coordinate with product, technical, after‑sales, logistics and training teams to ensure delivery, setup, user training and support meet customer commitments.
- Maintain accurate CRM records for customers, opportunities, demonstrations, trials, quotations, orders, collections and forecasts, and submit regular progress and market feedback reports.
- Collect feedback on product functionality, user experience and pricing, track local competitors and procurement processes, and provide practical product and sales recommendations.
Requirements
- Currently based in Sydney or New South Wales, with Australian work rights and a current Australian driver's licence.
- At least 3 years of experience in B2B sales, business development, channel sales or key account development. Experience in sports, tennis, education, venue services, smart hardware, robotics or equipment is preferred.
- Ability to manage the full sales cycle independently, from lead generation through contract, handover and payment follow‑up.
- Experience developing clubs, schools, universities, sports venues, coaches, retailers or distributors, with verifiable sales or channel results.
- Strong product or solution selling skills, with the ability to translate technical features into value such as training efficiency, coaching capacity, member experience, venue utilisation or commercial returns.
- Familiarity with CRM, quotations, contracts, forecasting and account follow‑up, together with strong English communication, demonstration, negotiation and proposal‑writing skills.
- Willingness to undertake field visits, product trials and occasional evening or weekend events or club activities, with a genuine interest in tennis, training or smart equipment.
Desirable Experience
- Sales or business development experience with tennis clubs, tennis academies, sporting goods, sports technology, smart education, robotics, smart hardware or venue services;
- Existing relationships with tennis clubs, coaches, schools, universities, sports venues, event organisers or sporting goods channels in Sydney and New South Wales;
- Experience with intelligent tennis ball machines, training equipment, reference customers, trial programs or regional distributor management;
- Experience building an Australian city market, brand channel or product sales system from the ground up;
- Mandarin or Chinese communication skills are an advantage but are not a hiring requirement.
