We're looking for an AO4 Finance Officer to a QLD State Government team on a contract basis, starting as soon as possible. The role is 36.25 hours per week, with extra hours required during busy periods such as Month End, Forecasting and Budgeting.

Location: Brisbane South
Contract until June 2027
Pay Rate: $60.05 per hour plus 12% Super
ASAP Start, Weekly Pay.

You'll work across the finance operations function, with the chance to build your management accounting skills in a hands-on, high-volume environment.
Your Responsibilities:

- Carry out financial tasks including payment of accounts, invoicing, corporate card management, journals and general debtors
- Keep detailed, accurate records of transactions using Microsoft Office and Technology One
- Ensure all activities follow organisational policies, practices and procedures
- Liaise with officers across other Departments, Corporate and Regions on financial administration policies, systems and procedures
- Support the month end process
- Contribute to improving business processes and practices
- Support Corporate and Regional initiatives as directed by your manager
- Promote and model the organisation's values, including safety first, working together, customer focus, taking responsibility and showing initiative

About You

- Experience in a finance operations role, ideally with exposure to management accounting (month end, journals, forecasting support)
- Hands-on experience with accounts payable, invoicing, journals and general debtors
- Working knowledge of Technology One (or a similar ERP) and Microsoft Office
- Willing to work extra hours in busy periods such as month end
- Strong communication skills and confident working with stakeholders across the business
- Agile and proactive, ready to hit the ground running in a high-volume team
