About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and observant Crop Scout to assist with monitoring crop health and identifying potential issues in their fields near Queenstown . This seasonal role is vital for early detection of pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies, enabling timely intervention and minimizing crop loss. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to work independently outdoors, and possess a basic understanding of plant health. Key Responsibilities

- Regularly walk through assigned fields to inspect crops for signs of pests, diseases, weeds, and nutrient deficiencies.
- Accurately identify and record observations, including the type and severity of any issues encountered.
- Utilize basic sampling techniques to collect plant and insect samples for further analysis.
- Document field conditions, including weather, growth stage,



and any relevant environmental factors.
- Report findings promptly to the farm manager or agronomist, highlighting areas of concern.
- Assist with other field-related tasks as assigned, such as scouting for irrigation needs.

Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of common crops, pests, and diseases is advantageous.
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions.
