Our Morack venue in Vermont South combines a public golf course, modern driving range, mini golf, café, bar, events and entertainment in a vibrant community environment.
We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on hospitality professional to lead our café and bar operation while also taking responsibility for the wider venue as Manager on Duty.
This is an all-areas management role with a strong hospitality focus. You’ll lead the team on shift, take ownership of café and bar operations, manage stock and service standards, and oversee the wider venue to ensure everything runs smoothly.
You’ll work alongside the Venue Manager, 2IC and other MODs as part of the venue leadership team.
The Role
The venue operates from 6am to 10pm daily, except Sunday when it closes at 9pm. Our MOD team provides operational management coverage across the seven-day operation.
As Manager on Duty, you will:
Be responsible for the venue during your shift, ensuring the team, service and operation run smoothly across all areas.
Lead café, bar and kitchen operations, maintaining high standards of hospitality, food quality and customer service.
Manage stock, including ordering, stock levels, deliveries, stock rotation, wastage and stock control.
Lead, coach and support team members to deliver consistent service and operational standards.
Manage customer enquiries, feedback and operational issues professionally and confidently.
Oversee golf course, driving range and mini golf operations, including bookings, presentation,
customer issues and Toptracer/POS technology.
Monitor venue presentation, cleanliness and overall guest experience throughout the shift.
Support the delivery of events in coordination with the Events & Marketing Coordinator.
Ensure food safety, RSA and WHS standards are maintained.
Complete daily opening, closing, reporting and handover requirements.
Work closely with the Venue Manager and 2IC on team performance, coaching and day-to-day venue priorities.
About You
You’re an experienced hospitality professional and people leader who enjoys being hands-on and working in a busy setting.
We’re looking for someone with:
Hospitality or duty management experience, ideally across café, bar, restaurant or broader F&B; operations.
Demonstrated experience leading a team and supporting day-to-day operations, particularly during busy trading periods.
Strong customer service, communication and problem-solving skills.
A practical, hands-on approach and the ability to think on your feet.
A genuine passion for hospitality and pride in delivering high standards.
Experience with stock management, ordering and stock control.
RSA required; First Aid and Food Safety certificates are highly desirable.
Confidence using technology and POS systems; SwiftPOS, Tanda or similar is a bonus.
Availability to work a mix of mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
An interest in golf, entertainment or recreation is a bonus.
Barista or bar experience is a plus but not essential.
What We Offer
Amusement, Events & Recreation (AER) Award rates and conditions.
A supportive and fun team environment.
Career development opportunities within an expanding company.
The chance to make your mark in a unique, fast-growing entertainment venue.
