Are you an experienced Project Manager looking for ownership, variety and the chance to lead great commercial projects?

You’ll bring strong commercial construction experience. We’ll give you the autonomy, team and support to deliver your projects well.

About the role

You’ll join our Project Management team delivering commercial construction projects across South Australia. Our projects typically range from $500K to $10M. Our current portfolio includes fast-food and hospitality projects, school refurbishments, sporting and community facilities, aged care fit-outs and other commercial works.

You’ll take ownership of your projects from planning through to successful handover. You’ll manage programme, commercial performance, procurement, risk, quality and client relationships. You’ll lead a project team which typically includes a Contract Administrator and Site Manager. You’ll also help mentor and develop our emerging construction professionals.

Reporting directly to our Managing Director, Callan, you’ll have support from our Construction and Administration teams. We’ll give you the autonomy to make decisions, with senior support when you need it.

What you’ll get up to

- Lead commercial projects from planning through to completion and handover.
- Manage programmes, budgets, forecasts and overall commercial performance.
- Plan and manage works within live and operational environments.
- Lead procurement and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Identify and manage project, contractual and commercial risks.
- Manage variations, claims and key contractual requirements.
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Coordinate architects, engineers and other project stakeholders.
- Lead your Site Manager and Contract Administrator to deliver safe, high-quality projects.
- Mentor developing team members and share your construction knowledge.

You have proven experience as a Project Manager delivering commercial construction projects.

2. Strong project knowledge

You understand construction methodology, programming, procurement and project delivery. You’re also confident building and managing project programmes using MS Project.

You understand budgets, forecasts, contracts, variations and project risk. You know how project decisions affect the commercial outcome.

4. Leadership and relationships

You communicate well and build strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors. You know how to lead a project team and bring people with you.

You’re comfortable making decisions, solving problems and being accountable for project outcomes. You’re also willing to share your experience and help others develop.
