Building Manager – High-End Residential Properties

We are seeking a motivated and professional Building Manager to join our growing team.

We are a Melbourne-based Facilities Management company with an extensive portfolio of high-end residential properties. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service and creating a premium residential experience, while ensuring the buildings under our management are maintained and presented to a high standard.

Previous Building Management experience is highly regarded; however, we also welcome applicants from other industries who can demonstrate strong management, customer service, organisational and operational skills that are transferable to the role.

If you are proactive, organised, have excellent attention to detail and enjoy building positive relationships with people, we would like to hear from you.

About the role

As a Building Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a residential property and will report directly to an Operations Manager who will provide ongoing direction and support.

The role combines building operations, contractor management, administration and resident service. You will be a key point of contact for residents and will play an important role in maintaining a professional, welcoming and well-managed residential environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

Coordinating the day-to-day operation and presentation of the property.

Providing professional assistance, information and support to residents.

Building positive relationships with residents, contractors and other stakeholders.

Implementing and monitoring the property's annual maintenance plan.

Coordinating contractors, obtaining quotations and following up maintenance works.

Monitoring work to ensure it is completed on time and to the required standard.

Identifying maintenance and operational issues and ensuring appropriate action is taken.

Maintaining accurate building, maintenance and operational records.

Preparing professional reports, correspondence and resident communications.

Following established company procedures and site requirements.

Where applicable, supervising and coordinating other on-site staff.

About you

You will be a proactive manager who takes ownership of your responsibilities and follows matters through to completion.

You will be comfortable working independently while also contributing to a broader Building Management and Operations team.

To succeed in this role, you will ideally demonstrate:

Previous Building Management experience or management experience in an industry with relevant transferable skills.

Strong organisational and time-management skills.

A proactive approach to managing tasks and following up outstanding matters.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Professional customer service experience and the ability to communicate confidently with residents and stakeholders.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.

The ability to coordinate contractors and monitor the completion and quality of works.

Confidence learning building management software and other systems.

The ability to understand and follow policies, procedures and operational guidelines.

Experience supervising or managing a small team would be advantageous.

A skilled, reliable and customer-focused approach.

Building-specific technical knowledge can be developed through experience and training; however, applicants should have the management capability and willingness to develop a sound working knowledge of building systems and operations.

You will join an established and growing Facilities Management company and work as part of a professional Building Management team. You will have the support of an experienced Operations Manager while having the autonomy to take ownership of the day-to-day management of your property.

For the right candidate, this is an opportunity to develop a long-term career in residential Building and Facilities Management.
