$120,000 – $140,000 per year + annual bonus
The Business Manager is a hands-on leadership and operational support role responsible for helping the Managing Director manage and strengthen the day-to-day operations of Charge Hub Australia. The position coordinates finance administration, external professional advisers, insurance, compliance, people operations, recruitment, and the development of effective company systems and processes.
Key responsibilities
Assist the Managing Director to plan, prioritise and manage the company's day-to-day business activities
Translate business priorities into practical actions, accountabilities, timelines and follow-up
Prepare management information, reports and operational updates to support sound decision-making
Coordinate key internal and external stakeholders and ensure agreed actions are completed
Identify operational risks, inefficiencies and improvement opportunities, and recommend practical solutions
Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and oversee routine finance administration, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and supporting documentation
Monitor cash flow, aged receivables, supplier payments, budgets and financial deadlines, escalating issues promptly
Manage the working relationship with the external bookkeeper and accountant, ensuring records, reconciliations,
reports and requested information are complete and provided on time
Coordinate the company's insurance portfolio, renewals, certificates of currency, claims and broker communications
Coordinate recruitment activities, including position descriptions, advertising, candidate administration, interviews, reference checks, offers and onboarding
About you
Demonstrated bookkeeping background and practical experience in a small-to-medium business environment
Experience managing or coordinating an external bookkeeper, accountant and other skilled advisers
Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll coordination, financial reporting support and record keeping
Experience in business operations, office management or a comparable business management role
Experience supporting HR administration and recruitment processes
Demonstrated ability to build, document and improve business systems and processes
Strong digital literacy, including Microsoft 365 and accounting or bookkeeping software
High attention to detail, discretion and confidence handling commercially sensitive and personal information
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work constructively with employees, advisers, suppliers and management
