About the team

The role will work alongside the drainage strategy team and support engineering teams in the Infrastructure Department and in support of other operational and planning departments across the organisation.

We are looking for a motivated, talented self-starter to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to deliver a key uplift in organisational capability and position the City of Kingston as a leader in management of water resources.

What you’ll deliver

- Undertake regular inspections, arrange audits, and implement prioritised improvement programs, including cost estimates to inform annual maintenance and renewal budgets.
- Embed the operational phase of new Integrated Water Management (IWM) infrastructure into Council’s asset management and operational frameworks.
- Establish and maintain effective operational procedures, management systems and documentation for Council’s IWM assets.
- Undertake site inspections for private WSUD assets and on-site detention storage (OSD) systems, of a representative sample of development types (where access is practical) to assess and report on the extent of construction and maintenance compliance with planning permit conditions.
- Provide input into the implementation of the Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS) to ensure that maintenance considerations are fit for purpose.

What You’ll Bring

- Stormwater management and maintaining stormwater harvesting systems.
- A tertiary qualification in environmental science,



civil engineering, or a closely related discipline with several years relevant experience in the public or private sector or a lesser qualification with extensive experience in the public or private sector
- Can work autonomously and take ownership of tasks and projects from inception to completion
- Excellent ability in stakeholder communication
