Senior Accountant - CPA
The HeartScreen is a growing Australian cardiac diagnostic and preventative healthcare organisation focused on improving access to cardiac screening and early detection.
As we continue to expand our operations nationally, we are seeking an experienced and commercially minded CPA-qualified Senior Accountant to join our team and take responsibility for the financial management, reporting and accounting functions of the organisation.
About the Role
Working closely with the CEO, COO and senior leadership team, you will play an important role in ensuring strong financial governance and providing accurate financial information to support strategic and operational decision-making.
This is a hands-on position suited to an experienced accountant who is comfortable managing day-to-day financial operations while also contributing at a broader commercial and strategic level.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and oversee monthly management accounts and financial reporting
- Manage budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow reporting
- Provide financial analysis and commercial insights to the executive team
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger functions
- Manage payroll-related financial processes and reconciliations
- Prepare and review BAS, GST and other statutory reporting requirements
- Maintain appropriate financial controls, policies and procedures
- Support annual financial statements, audit and year-end processes
- Monitor expenditure, budgets and financial performance across the organisation
- Assist with financial modelling and analysis relating to business growth and expansion
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, banks and other qualified advisers as required
- Support the CEO and COO with financial information required for strategic planning and external stakeholder discussions
- Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, reporting and processes as the organisation continues to scale
About You
- CPA qualification (essential)
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- Strong experience in financial and management accounting
- Excellent knowledge of Australian accounting, taxation and regulatory requirements
- Experience preparing budgets, forecasts, management reports and financial analysis
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of financial integrity
- Confidence communicating financial information to senior executives and non-finance stakeholders
- Strong Excel and financial systems capability
- The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of the finance function
- Experience within healthcare, medical services or a growing multi-site organisation would be highly regarded
