Koolyangarra Early Learning Community is a warm, welcoming and community-focused early learning service operated by Kummara. We are a small, not-for-profit centre licensed for just 40 children, allowing us to build meaningful relationships with children, families and our team.

About the Role

n

As the Lead Educator, you will be responsible for creating and delivering a high-quality educational program that supports the learning, development and wellbeing of children aged 6 weeks to 3 years.

n

You will lead by example, inspire your team, build strong partnerships with families and champion continuous improvement through reflective practice and professional collaboration.

n

Using the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Framework, you will create engaging learning experiences that are responsive to each child's individual strengths, interests and developmental needs.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

- Lead the delivery of a high-quality educational program aligned with the EYLF.
n
- Ensure compliance with National Quality Standards, Regulations and Kummara policies and procedures.
n
- Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive setting for all children.
n
- Build positive partnerships with children, families and colleagues.
n
- Guide and support educators within the room.
n
- Contribute to planning, observations, assessments and documentation of children's learning.
n
- Foster a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement.
n
- Support children's wellbeing, development, agency and participation.
n




- Maintain accurate records, including incident and accident reports.
n
- Contribute positively to the overall operation and culture of the service.
n
- Work collaboratively with the Educational Leader and Centre Director to achieve quality outcomes.

About You

n

You are a passionate early childhood professional who believes every child deserves to feel safe, valued and supported in their learning journey.

n

You bring strong leadership skills, a collaborative approach and a genuine commitment to high-quality early childhood education and care.

n

Essential Requirements

n

n
- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA approved equivalent)
n
- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
n
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications
n
- Demonstrated understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
n
- Knowledge of the National Quality Standards and Education and Care Services Regulations.
n
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
n
- Experience leading or mentoring educators within an early learning environment
n
- Commitment to child safety and inclusive practices
n

Desirable

n

n
- Experience working with infants and toddlers
n
- Understanding of trauma-informed and relationship-based practice
n
- Experience within a community or not-for-profit organisation
n
